Commissioner Sibi orders material testing at every stage of construction projects

SIBI: A meeting on the performance and ongoing development projects of the Communication and Works, Physical Planning and Housing (CWPP&H) Department in Sibi Division was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sibi Division Irfanullah Khan.

The Director Development, the executive engineers of Buildings and Roads, and sub-divisional officers (SDOs) gave the commissioner a detailed briefing on the department’s performance, the progress of ongoing projects and construction work.

The commissioner directed that all development projects be completed on time and that quality not be compromised. He said all construction projects must be completed according to the approved designs, the prescribed standards, technical principles and the relevant specifications, so that public resources are used effectively and the public receives quality facilities.

He said material testing should be carried out regularly at every stage to ensure the quality of materials, and verification of technical standards must be made compulsory, so that substandard material is prevented and the projects last. Directing the officers to monitor projects continuously and take effective steps to complete them within the set time, the commissioner said transparency, quality and timely completion must be ensured at all costs so that the benefits reach the public.
