Firing near Tiger Shroff’s residence injures driver and passer-by; case filed against three unknown suspects

MUMBAI: A shooting near the residence of Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has raised concern about security in the Indian film industry. Mumbai Police have registered a case against three unidentified armed men and stepped up their investigation.

The actor was unharmed in the incident. However, his driver and a passer-by were shot and taken to hospital.

According to Indian media reports, the incident took place near Juhu on Sunday evening, when unidentified armed men targeted Tiger Shroff’s car.

According to police, the suspects allegedly fired five shots, wounding the driver, Firdos, and a passer-by, Umesh Chauhan. Both were given medical treatment and, according to officials, are out of danger.

Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch have begun investigating. Several teams have been formed to trace the suspects, and a motorcycle allegedly used in the attack has also been seized. Statements of those concerned are also being recorded.

After the incident, a debate on the security of artists has begun among prominent Bollywood figures and in film circles. Indian media also reported that actress Disha Patani arrived to meet Tiger Shroff, while artists’ organisations expressed concern.
