ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court has dismissed the federation’s petition against former PTI member of the National Assembly Major (retd) Tahir Sadiq in the GHQ attack case, declaring it inadmissible.

According to Express News, Tahir Sadiq has served as a member of the National Assembly from Attock. The court upheld the order on removing his name from the case and on travelling abroad.

The federation had filed the petition through the Secretary Interior against the Islamabad High Court’s decision. A three-member bench headed by Justice Aamer Farooq heard it today.

The court upheld the high court’s order removing his name from the ECL, the PCL and the PNICL in the 9 May 2023 GHQ attack case.

The Additional Attorney General argued that the high court had not given reasons for accepting the petition, as required by the Mustafa Impex case judgment.

Justice Aamer Farooq remarked that names were being put on the list again and again in the same case, which the Islamabad High Court had barred. He asked whether the respondent’s name was to be put on the ECL again. He said the name could be added tomorrow, as the court had barred it only in this case and not in any other case.
