LAHORE: Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf has signed a contract with Adelaide Strikers for the next season of the Big Bash League. According to a report by Dunya News, rather than the web desk of Dawn News, he will play for the same team in the next edition of the league.

Haris Rauf has previously represented Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. He is now changing his franchise.

According to reports, the new Big Bash League season will begin on 12 December this year.

According to cricket.com.au, the draft for overseas players has been scrapped in the Big Bash League this time. The league has returned to the open market system that existed before 2022, in which clubs sign players directly. Under the new rules, the requirement for a minimum number of overseas players has also been removed. A club can include a maximum of three overseas players in its core list.

According to the same report, Adelaide Strikers have also signed former England captain Ben Stokes for the coming season. He will work with the team’s coach, Tim Paine. New Zealand’s Mark Chapman has also signed with the Strikers. Alex Carey and captain Matt Short are also under contract with the team.

On the cricket.com.au list, Hasan Ali is among the Strikers’ uncontracted players, while the future of Travis Head and Chris Lynn has also been described as uncertain. The window for clubs to complete their lists of 18 players reopened on 27 August.
