ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that Pakistan rejects the accusations made against it by Afghan officials. He said Afghanistan should dismantle terrorist hideouts instead of making baseless allegations.

Talking to the media in the federal capital, he said the Afghan allegations against Pakistan had no basis. He said Afghanistan must ensure a complete end to infiltration into Pakistan from its soil.

He said Pakistan had always spoken of establishing peace in the region, but whenever aggression was imposed on Pakistan, it was given a crushing response. The federal minister made it clear that Pakistan’s armed forces remained fully prepared at all times to respond to any kind of aggression.

Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said Pakistan had given Afghanistan solid evidence of infiltration and terrorism. This evidence was also presented to Afghan representatives during the Istanbul and Doha talks.

He said, “We had no answer to the terrorism coming from Afghanistan. Despite the talks, the Afghan interim government was not ready to stop infiltration.”

The federal minister said that if Afghan soil continued to be used for terrorism, Pakistan had the right to take all necessary measures. He urged Afghanistan to take effective action against terrorist elements and to fulfil its responsibilities to stop infiltration into Pakistan.
