Govt frames national wheat policy after 40 years: Rana Tanveer

The government has framed a national wheat policy after 40 years, Rana Tanveer said while talking to the media.

Strategic reserves of up to 6 million metric tonnes of wheat will be maintained this year.

He said the recent rise in wheat prices was artificial. Prices are expected to return to normal in the next few days.

The government is taking steps to prevent artificial shortages and unjustified price increases.
