Sindh Governor hails NED University, PSEB partnership on semiconductors

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has said that Pakistan’s digital future depends on modern technology and the abilities of its youth.

He said the partnership between NED University and the Pakistan Software Export Board was an important step in promoting the national semiconductor sector. Strong links between universities and the technology industry, he said, were essential for developing modern skills.

Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said the Semiconductor Education Research Cluster would give young people the best opportunities for modern training and research. “We have to make our youth not users of technology but creators and innovators,” he said.

The Governor said the aim was to build a digital Pakistan where no opportunity for progress was lost for want of technology and connectivity.

He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision was for Pakistan’s IT exports to reach $25 billion by 2030.
