Research officer Nighat Din visits Fisheries Office Pasni, inspects micro lab and model fish market

PASNI: Research Officer Nighat Din visited the Fisheries Office Pasni on the special directives of Balochistan Secretary for Fisheries and Coastal Development Tariq Qamar and Director General Fisheries Atiqullah Khan. Assistant Director Shahzeb Sadiq, Mir Khalid Kalmati, Noorudin Hasni, Mir Asif Rind and Marine Biologist Asadullah were also present.

The research officer reviewed staff attendance, office discipline and the performance of various sections. She also inspected the micro lab, the model fish market and ongoing development projects. Assistant Director Fisheries (Marine) Shahzeb Sadiq gave a detailed briefing on development projects under way in Pasni and on the department’s activities.

Nighat Din directed that priority be given to sustainable fishing, protection of marine resources, scientific research, improvement of fisheries infrastructure and the welfare of the Fishermen community. She said this would help advance the provincial government’s vision for fisheries and coastal development effectively.
