ISLAMABAD: Senator Kamran Murtaza of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam has submitted a privilege motion to the Senate Secretariat over alleged raids by police personnel on his residence and ancestral home in Quetta, the harassment of women and children, and the officers’ refusal to identify themselves. The matter has now been raised before the upper house, and the senator has demanded an inquiry.

According to the text of the motion, about 40 people arrived on 4 November 2026 at the senator’s private residence, house number D-70 in the Single Housing Scheme in Quetta, and raided it. The senator says the individuals kicked the main gate, climbed the walls to take photographs, and photographed the electricity meter outside the house.

The motion states that the noise drew residents of the neighbourhood to the spot. Some students present tried to record the individuals on their mobile phones, but the senator says they were prevented from doing so.

Senator Kamran Murtaza says the same individuals then reached his ancestral home, house number D-22 in the Single Housing Scheme, Quetta, which is some distance from his private residence, accompanied by police personnel. He alleges that the officers kicked the doors there as well and harassed the women and children inside. According to the motion, only his younger brother Adnan was present in the house with the women and children at the time.

The senator says his brother asked the officers to identify themselves, but they refused to disclose their identities and said only that they had come at the direction of law enforcement agencies. He says the individuals left after a large crowd gathered.

The privilege motion argues that if a senator’s residence is attacked in his absence and the women and children inside are harassed, the matter is not only that of the member of parliament concerned, but also raises the question of the dignity and security of ordinary citizens. Senator Murtaza has requested that his motion be referred to the relevant committee so that it can examine the alleged incident in Quetta and present its report to the House.

It should be noted that all of these claims are set out in the senator’s submitted motion and remain allegations. The report does not include the position of the police or any other relevant agency.
