Iran’s 7-point proposal may be implemented in coming days, says Esmail Baghaei

TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei has said that Iran’s 7-point proposal is the basis of diplomacy with the United States. He said the ball is now in the United States’ court.
Addressing a press conference in Tehran, the spokesman said there is a possibility that Iran’s 7-point proposal will be implemented in the next few days. He said Iran’s demands are clear and logical.
According to Esmail Baghaei, any agreement and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz require an end to the US naval blockade and approval of Iran’s demands.
He added that Iran does not expect any new situation from the United States after the midterm elections.
According to the spokesman, messages are still being exchanged with the United States. Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi was in Doha to facilitate the process.
Esmail Baghaei said the International Criminal Court (ICC) is facing severe pressure from the United States for acting against Israeli officials under its legal rules.
Criticising the United States, he said that over the past 2 years it has not only failed to offer any diplomatic initiative but has also actively damaged the diplomatic process.
The spokesman described Israel as the main cause of insecurity in West Asia. He said Israel has further intensified its atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon.
With the cold weather approaching, obstacles to the delivery of basic necessities of life to displaced people have made their situation catastrophic.
According to Esmail Baghaei, the international community and European countries have begun to show indifference to the situation in Gaza. He said reducing human lives to mere statistics and treating atrocities as routine is an extremely dangerous trend, which has become a grave threat to the human conscience.
