DG Fisheries Atiqullah Khan inspects licence registration in Gwadar, checks nets at harbour jetty

GWADAR: Under the Balochistan government’s fishermen-friendly policy and its drive to protect marine resources, Director General Fisheries Balochistan Atiqullah Khan visited Gwadar and inspected the licence registration and inspection process on the spot. He directed officials to complete all stages transparently and to strictly enforce fisheries laws and regulations.

Later, the DG Fisheries visited the Gwadar Harbour Jetty with Director Marine Ahmed Nadeem, the Assistant Director Fisheries Gwadar and other officials. The size of the nets used by fishermen was reviewed there.

Fisheries officials checked banned and permitted nets. They said steps would be taken to ensure effective enforcement of the laws to protect marine life and promote sustainable fishing.
