Open court held in Shighalo, Zhob: residents cite dispensary shut for 15 years, closed school, water shortage

ZHOB: An open court was held in Shighalo, in Kakar Khurasan tehsil, to resolve public problems. It was organised by the district administration together with the Frontier Corps (FC) and chaired by Assistant Commissioner Kalimullah.
FC Balochistan, Shighalo police station SHO Muhammad Yaseen, investigating officer Wali Khan, representatives of the Livestock Department, tribal elders, ulema and local residents attended.
Demands of the people
Residents said power loadshedding and a severe shortage of clean drinking water had made life very hard for them. They said the Basic Health Unit dispensary had been out of order for 15 years and the Government Middle School Shighalo had long been closed. They added that roads were in disrepair and a contractor had left work unfinished.
They demanded that the Levies force be restored immediately to maintain law and order and that the shortage of police personnel at Shighalo police station be made up. Concern was also voiced over the lack of medicines and vaccines for livestock, the shortage of medicines for people, and the illegal hunting of rare wildlife. Residents also demanded that the hardships of nomads be addressed and that Shighalo be given special priority in development projects.
Assistant Commissioner Kalimullah and FC officials listened to the problems patiently and attentively. They assured residents that all genuine demands would be presented to the authorities on a priority basis and that the departments concerned would be bound to resolve the problems at the earliest.
