Bilawal says Sindh Assembly has put an end to new province issue

KARACHI: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has denied any consultation with the centre on the 28th Amendment. He said the Sindh Assembly had put a full stop to the issue of a new province in Sindh.
Addressing a ceremony, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the PPP’s stand on the issue of a province was clear and had been stated repeatedly. The people of Sindh and their elected representatives had announced their decision, he said, and only the people of Sindh could decide the fate of Sindh.
He said the job of politicians was not to create hatred and division among people. Members of the federal cabinet from Karachi had not done a single piece of work in the city, he said. The federal government took no interest in Karachi, and its representatives were busy spreading hatred in the city.
He said the federal government should pay attention to Karachi. If federal and provincial institutions worked together in the city, the people could be served.
The PPP chairman said it was the duty of the government to make life easier for the people. Inflation and unemployment were at their peak in the country, he said, and the Sindh government was trying to reduce the economic burden on the people.
Electricity bills had risen so much that people were finding it hard to pay them. He said he wished the whole of Lyari could be shifted to solar energy. The Sindh government was trying to provide solar energy to the people of Lyari, he said.
