QUETTA: Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Balochistan and a provincial assembly member, has said that young people, especially women, should focus on modern education, digital technology and technical skills so that they can secure dignified employment and become economically self-reliant.

He made the remarks during a visit to the Gwadar centre of the Jamaat-i-Islami Al-Khidmat Bano Qabil programme. During the visit he met trainee women and encouraged them.

Campus Admin Hammad Raheem proposed that a scheme be introduced under the Bano Qabil programme to distribute laptops, on a merit basis, among outstanding graduates from Gwadar. He said this would enable young people to use their digital skills in practice to access jobs and self-employment opportunities.

Hammad Raheem said the initiative to distribute laptops among high-achieving students across the country, under the patronage of Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan Amir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, deserves praise. In his view, encouraging talented young people in Gwadar and across Balochistan in the same way is an urgent need of the hour.

Officials of the Bano Qabil programme expressed their resolve to continue efforts to equip the youth of Gwadar and wider Balochistan with modern technical and digital skills, and to provide them with opportunities for progress, employment and economic independence.
