SIBI: A special Open Court (Khuli Kachehri) for women was held at Circuit House Sibi under Deputy Commissioner Sibi Major (retd) Ilyas Kakozai, on the special directions of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Chief Secretary Balochistan. SSP Sibi Abdul Hameed, Assistant Commissioner Sibi Imran Mandokhel, officials of various departments and a large number of women attended.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said that both Islamic law and the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s rulings give first priority to women’s rights. He said the Open Court aims to hear and resolve, directly, the side of public problems that is otherwise overlooked.

The women put their problems before the Deputy Commissioner and also submitted written applications. The Deputy Commissioner resolved several solvable issues on the spot. He said such Open Courts would be held regularly in future so that women’s problems in particular are resolved on a priority basis and direct contact between the administration and the public becomes more effective.

He said the district administration was taking every possible step to resolve public problems and no issue would be ignored. Speaking of the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI), he said extensive development projects in education, health, clean drinking water and other basic facilities had been completed in Sibi district under the scheme, directly benefiting the people.
