Imran Khan given medical check-up in hospital, declared healthy, returned to Adiala Jail: Tarar

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that the PTI founder underwent a medical examination in hospital in line with the Supreme Court’s decision. He was found healthy and, once the process was complete, was moved back to Adiala Jail.

In a post on the social media platform X on Friday, the Federal Minister for Information said that, in line with the Supreme Court’s decision, the prisoner was taken to hospital under proper security arrangements during the night of 20 and 21 August 2026.

A team of qualified doctors, including an eye specialist, a heart specialist and a physician, examined him in detail and declared him medically healthy.

His sister, Uzma Khan, was present throughout the medical examination and treatment.

After the process was complete, he was returned to Adiala Jail at about 5am on 21 August 2026.

Giving further details, the Federal Minister for Information said the examination was carried out at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Doctors from Shifa International Hospital were also present.

He said PTI workers had created a security situation on the route to Shifa International Hospital and outside it. In view of this, the PTI founder was taken to PIMS. The medical examination found him healthy.

He said medical facilities had been provided to him earlier as well, and would be provided again whenever he needed them.
