Pakistan will go to any length to defend Saudi Arabia, says DG ISPR
DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said in an interview with Arab News that Pakistan stands fully with Saudi Arabia, diplomatically and in practical terms. He said its commitment extends to protecting the two holiest sites, including Makkah and Madinah.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said, “We will go to any length and will keep providing Saudi Arabia with defence against any aggression.” He said Pakistan’s commitment to Saudi security is unconditional. He added that the historic ties between the people, armed forces and leadership of the two countries form its foundation.
He added that Pakistan is in constant contact with the Saudi leadership. He said it is seeking dialogue and a peaceful solution through consultation with governments in the region.
Calling the Islamabad memorandum of understanding the only real way out of the present complex military situation, he said Pakistan is looking for common ground to bring Washington and Tehran back to the negotiating table.
