Nasirabad meeting reviews preparations for November SNID polio campaign

NASIRABAD: An important meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee (DPEC) was held under Deputy Commissioner Nasirabad Virender Lal. It reviewed in detail preparations for the Subnational Immunisation Days (SNID) polio campaign to be held in November 2026. The meeting also looked at micro-planning, security arrangements, the formation of teams, access to children and possible practical problems during the campaign.
Officials and representatives of the health department, the EPI programme and other bodies working for polio eradication attended the meeting. Various matters were discussed to make the campaign effective, well organised and successful. The meeting stressed the need to complete all necessary arrangements before the campaign begins and to improve coordination among the departments concerned.
Micro-planning and access to children
While reviewing micro-planning, the meeting stressed that all areas of the district, villages, remote settlements and places where reaching children may be difficult should be included in the plan. The importance of deploying polio teams, clearly marking the assigned areas, counting children correctly and having an effective strategy to identify missed children was highlighted.
The meeting also reviewed steps to improve the performance of polio teams, train field staff, monitor the campaign and reach children who remain unvaccinated. The officials concerned were told that, to ensure every child is reached, teams must be monitored continuously and problems in the field must be resolved in time.
Security arrangements were also discussed in detail so that polio teams can carry out their duties in a safe environment and the campaign continues without interruption. The meeting stressed effective coordination among the health department, the district administration and other institutions concerned.
The meeting also stressed raising awareness among parents and the public about the importance of the polio vaccine. The aim is to address concerns and misconceptions about the vaccine so that as many children as possible receive the drops. The cooperation of parents, community leaders and all sections of society was described as essential for the complete eradication of polio.
Deputy Commissioner Virender Lal said all institutions concerned must perform their responsibilities effectively to protect children from lifelong disability and achieve the national goal of eradicating polio. Stressing the need to coordinate preparations, team performance, security and the monitoring system, he directed that all arrangements be completed on time so that the November 2026 SNID campaign can be carried out effectively.
