QUETTA: Provincial Adviser for Environment and Climate Change Naseemur Rehman Khan Malakhel cut an Independence Day cake at Malakhel House on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. A large number of Pakistan Muslim League workers and supporters were present.

After the cake-cutting ceremony, an Independence Day rally was taken out from Malakhel House. It was led by Naseemur Rehman Khan Malakhel. Workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), young people and citizens took part carrying national flags. The rally passed through different areas and roads of the city and ended on its return to Malakhel House. Along the way, citizens welcomed it with slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad”.

“Do not limit independence to celebrations”

Addressing the gathering, Naseemur Rehman Khan Malakhel said independence was a great blessing of Almighty Allah, and valuing and protecting it was the shared responsibility of all. He said Pakistan was achieved through great sacrifices and struggle, so its independence, sovereignty and security must be valued. Independence Day, he said, reminds us of the sacrifices of our elders and the aims for which Pakistan was achieved. He said that, rising above personal and political differences, everyone should play their part in the country’s progress, peace, stability and prosperity.

He said the future of the whole of Pakistan, including Balochistan, was bright, and the government was taking full measures for the welfare of the people, the development of the province, and peace and stability. He said young people were the country’s valuable asset and should contribute to Pakistan’s progress through education, skills and positive activities. He said that instead of limiting the blessing of independence to celebrations, people must make serving the country a habit through their conduct and actions.

At the end of the ceremony and the rally, a special prayer was offered for Pakistan’s security, progress, prosperity, stability and peace. The participants pledged to fulfil their responsibilities fully for the country’s progress.
