Those who storm Islamabad will face harsh consequences, says Mohsin Naqvi

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said storming Islamabad would benefit no one. He said it would not happen this time that they come and the country is shut down for 10 to 20 days.

He said most of the PTI leadership did not want to hold a long march. He said there was still time not to walk into a dead end from which there would be no way back. He said nothing could be achieved through such dramas and that a permanent plan would be made this time.

He said his advice to PTI was not to harm itself and its people. He said boasts of the Somnath kind made no difference. If they came for a long march, he said, no shortcoming would be left this time.

Mohsin Naqvi said that if PTI still came for a sit-in, the order of the Islamabad High Court would be followed. He said the PTI people themselves did not know what their demand was.

The interior minister said that if their demand was a medical check-up of PTI founder Imran Khan, it had taken place last night as well. He said everything would be done in accordance with the law for the treatment of the PTI founder. He said the check-up of the founder would not be held at their bidding. He said there was no need to tell the PTI people about the founder’s check-up, and that those who make boasts should be allowed to talk.

He said neither the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa nor any minister attended the funerals of the martyrs of Hangu. He said that however great political differences might be, he had never seen them go to such an extreme. Asking whether these people had become so heartless, he said they did not attend the funerals.

Mohsin Naqvi further said that changes in petrol prices were linked to the global market. He said the people were strongly supporting the creation of new provinces and that, God willing, new provinces would certainly be created.
