JAFARABAD: Deputy Commissioner Jafarabad Khalid Khan chaired an important meeting of Revenue Department officers and revenue staff on the recovery of government dues. The meeting reviewed in detail the current state of recovery, the problems faced, arrears under various heads and the steps taken so far. Officers briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the recovery drive under way in different areas.

The Deputy Commissioner said timely and full recovery of government dues was an important responsibility of the district administration and the Revenue Department. He said no slackness or negligence would be accepted. He directed that dues be recovered from landowners and farmers in every case. He also directed that notices be issued at once to those with outstanding dues so that they could pay within the set period.

He said lists of defaulters should be prepared after a full check of the record. He said action should be taken, in line with the law and rules and without discrimination, against those who avoided payment despite repeated notices. The revenue record should be kept fully updated and progress in recovery reviewed daily. Officers should be present in the field, contact defaulters and adopt a coordinated strategy to meet the targets.

Khalid Khan said that raising government revenue was extremely important for public welfare and development activities in the district. He made it clear that no recommendation, pressure or discriminatory treatment would be entertained in recovery and that the law would be the same for everyone. He directed that obstacles be removed at once and that legal action be taken without delay where necessary. He expressed hope that the Revenue Department staff would achieve the recovery targets.
