Pakistan U18 baseball team win world title in United States

FLORIDA: Pakistan’s under-18 baseball team beat Paraguay 11-0 in the final of a tournament in the US state of Florida to win the under-18 category title.

The tournament, called “World Comes to the Palm Beaches” (powered by Prospect Wire 21), was played from 21 to 25 October at CoolToday Park in West Palm Beach. The ground is the spring training home of the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals.

The event began in 2017. Players from more than 30 countries across six continents have taken part in it. The competitions include under-12, under-15 and under-18 categories, and an open category for players above 18.

Pakistan’s under-18 team was organised by the Pakistan Baseball Association North America. Congratulating the team on social media, the association said the success was proof of the programme’s progress. Its aim is to give talented Pakistani players opportunities and a platform to play at the highest level.
