ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s under-15 football team played two fine matches on the same day against Jordan and Nigeria at the FIFA Under-15 World Cup and Festival 2026 in Azerbaijan. Both ended 1-1.

With these results, Pakistan have won their first two points at the World Cup. The Shaheens showed determination, courage and attacking play against strong football teams from Asia and Africa.

Match against Jordan

In the first match, Pakistan faced Jordan. Kaleemullah scored to give the Shaheens the lead. Jordan later scored a goal to level the match.

On that occasion, the ball passed close to the goal and only just made its way into the net. Pakistan did not lose heart. They drew the match 1-1 and won their first point at the World Cup.

Match against Nigeria

In the second match, the Shaheens faced Nigeria, who are counted among the leading teams in African football. Pakistan took a one-goal lead in the first half.

Nigeria took their chance during a scramble for the ball between players in front of the Pakistan goal. When the ball ran loose, a Nigeria player was quick to react and sent it into the net to level the match.

Even after the equaliser, Pakistan tried to keep their grip on the match. They played better in the second half and kept Nigeria from scoring a decisive goal. Pakistan thus drew the second match of the day 1-1 as well and won another valuable point.

Two draws in a single day against strong teams such as Jordan and Nigeria are an important achievement for Pakistan’s young footballers.

Pakistan will have a rest day on 27 October, with no match scheduled. The Shaheens will return to the field on 28 October in the next stage of the tournament.
