BALOCHISTAN: Eight provincial departments presented their two-year performance reports at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan. The secretaries and senior officials of the departments of health, industries, schools, communication and works, livestock, energy, mines and minerals, and science and IT gave detailed briefings on the performance of their sectors, reforms and future plans.

In their reports, the secretaries shared details of the promotion of public services, progress on development projects and the transparent use of resources. The meeting particularly appreciated efforts to speed up online services, e-reporting and digital management systems under digitisation.

Projects with direct benefit to public to get priority

Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan expressed satisfaction with the briefings and said the welfare of the people was the top priority of the provincial government. He directed that priority be given to projects that benefit the public directly and that they be completed on time. He also directed all departments to step up their efforts to improve public service and welfare further, and to give priority to transparency at every level.

The Chief Secretary said the rollout of digital services should be speeded up, the abolition of unnecessary posts should be completed transparently, and there should be no compromise on the quality and strict monitoring of public projects. He also directed that special attention be paid to providing basic facilities in remote areas.
