Court bench to sit in evening for urgent hearings, says Chief Justice Afridi

Addressing a full court meeting, Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi said the policy for fixing cases has been put on the web, and no case is now fixed even at his word.
The Chief Justice said it is claimed that judges take three months of leave. “Who said judges take three months of leave?” he asked. Judges take one month of leave within a period of three months.
The Chief Justice said 75 cases were fixed before a single bench in one day. The policy for fixing cases is available on the web, while two officers re-check the cases that appear in the cause list.
Chief Justice Yahya Afridi said a bench is being formed for pleas seeking an early hearing. The bench will also sit in the evening to hear such cases.
The Chief Justice further said the Shariat Appellate Bench will sit for one week every two months.
