QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti met students from Balochistan, male and female, who have been selected for higher education on scholarships at universities in different provinces. They held a detailed discussion on development projects, governance, education and other important matters. The students also put questions to the chief minister on various issues, and he answered them in detail. Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan and Secretary Higher Education Saleh Baloch were also present.

The chief minister said the selection of students from different Districts of Balochistan for higher education on merit guaranteed their bright academic future. Most of the selected students come from poor and middle-class families, and the chance to study at the country’s top universities is an important step forward for them.

He said it was a matter of joy that young people from Balochistan were studying various subjects at the country’s top universities. He called it a commendable step that the Punjab government was supporting Balochistan’s students with tuition and hostel fees along with admission to universities. On behalf of the people of Balochistan, he thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif from the bottom of his heart.

“Pakistan will last until the Day of Judgement”

Mir Sarfraz Bugti urged the students to make discipline, hard work and merit their habit while studying at universities in other provinces. He said that wherever young people from Balochistan went, they should promote Pakistani identity through their abilities and positive conduct, because they were ambassadors of Balochistan and Pakistan.

The chief minister said students should not become part of any anti-state organisation or negative propaganda, and should live up to their parents’ expectations by getting an education. He said there was a difference between perception and facts. Anti-state elements, he said, tried to poison the minds of young people in the name of unbalanced development, so students needed to be wary of such elements.

He made it clear that Pakistan was created to last for ever and would last until the Day of Judgement. Those who dreamed of dividing Pakistan, he said, were living in a fool’s paradise. He said the young people of Balochistan were the builders of Pakistan’s future and should use their energies for education, research, skills and the development of the country and the province.

Calling the dialogue with the students welcome, the chief minister said that listening to the questions and views of young people was among the government’s priorities. He said only educated and talented young people could play a key role in putting Balochistan on the path of progress, prosperity and stability.
