Anti-cannabis drive 2026 scheduled in Dobandi, Gulistan and Qila Abdullah

QUETTA: A schedule of phased operations has been drawn up under the Anti-Cannabis Drive 2026 in different areas of Balochistan, including Qila Abdullah district, Dobandi and Gulistan, to eliminate cannabis cultivation.

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, Balochistan, is playing its part in anti-narcotics efforts in the drive, together with the relevant institutions.

Excise Department officials said the drive would continue in different areas of Dobandi from 15 to 22 October, and in Gulistan and Qila Abdullah from 21 October to 1 November 2026. During the drive, operations to eliminate cannabis cultivation will be carried out with the cooperation of the relevant law enforcement agencies.

In this regard, Chaman Scouts, Muslim Bagh Scouts and the District Police Officer, Qila Abdullah, have been asked to deploy personnel and extend cooperation.

Excise Department officials said coordinated measures and effective liaison between institutions were essential to prevent the cultivation and spread of narcotics.
