Ziarat DC orders contractor blacklisted over delay in Al-Hijra College boundary wall

ZIARAT: A review meeting of the District Coordination Committee/District Development Committee on the development schemes of BSDI Phase I, Phase II and Phase III was held under the chair of Ziarat Deputy Commissioner Abdul Quddus Achakzai.
Lieutenant Colonel/Wing Commander of 155 Wing Zeeshan, Major Amir, PHE Executive Engineer Timur Agha, Irrigation SDO Ijazuddin, C&W SDO Miro Khan Bugti, Sub-Engineer Ghayas Muhammad and Ziarat Municipal Committee representative Mira Jan attended the meeting.
The meeting was told that 10 of the 11 schemes of BSDI Phase I had been completed. The boundary wall of Al-Hijra College will be completed by 30 July.
Directive to blacklist contractor company
The Deputy Commissioner expressed strong displeasure over the slow pace of work on the Al-Hijra College boundary wall, a Phase I scheme. He said the scheme was extremely important for the safety of schoolchildren, but the negligence and delay of the contractor company had put its timely completion at risk. He directed the Executive Engineer concerned to blacklist the contractor company immediately.
The meeting was further told that work on the 37 schemes of BSDI Phase II had progressed by more than 75 per cent on average. Phase III also includes important public welfare schemes, for which the tendering process is under way.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that all development projects under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative be completed on time, transparently and to a high standard. He made it clear that poor and substandard work would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Addressing the meeting, the Wing Commander said all development work should be completed on time and to a high standard so that the public could benefit from it as soon as possible.
