Mobile network down for a week in Zhob and Sherani, traders demand restoration

ZHOB: Office-bearers of the Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajiran, including District President Baran Khan Kaliwal, General Secretary Haji Muhammad Deen Kharoti, Senior Vice President Habib-ur-Rehman Kakar, Media Coordinator Abdul Ghafoor Mandokhel, Taju Sherani, Noor Khan Loon, Yousuf Lala and others, have said that people in different areas of Zhob and Sherani districts have faced severe hardship because the mobile network has been unavailable for the past week.

According to complaints from local residents, the shutdown or continued lack of network has disrupted daily life. Traders, students, teachers and people in other fields are also distressed by the situation.

Business and education affected

According to the traders, the mobile network has become a basic need for business today. Shopkeepers, traders, online sellers and other businesspeople are finding it difficult to contact customers, receive orders, make payments and carry out other business matters. There is concern that disrupted business contacts could also hurt the local economy.

The loss of mobile internet has also added to the difficulties of students. Access to online study material, lectures, assignments, examination information and other educational needs has been affected. Students who continue their studies through the internet may be hit the hardest.

The mobile network is not only a means of conversation but is also vital for livelihood, education, information and emergency contact. Without it, citizens may find it hard to contact relatives, obtain necessary information and carry out various government and private matters.

Demand

The people of Zhob and Sherani have demanded that the telecom companies concerned, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the district administration take immediate notice of the problem, which has continued for a week. They have also demanded that the reasons for the shutdown be made clear and that mobile service and internet be restored in the affected areas.

The people say the mobile network has become a basic necessity in modern times. Depriving citizens of communication for a long period, they say, creates difficulties for their daily life, education and business.

The question is how many more days the people of Zhob and Sherani will have to face this problem. The authorities concerned should take immediate steps to resolve the issue and give the public clear information about when the network will be restored.
