Pakistan’s first lunar rover Jinnah-1 to land on Moon in 2028, says Suparco chairman

Addressing a World Space Week event, the chairman of the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) said World Space Week plays an important role in introducing young people to space technology. He said Pakistan’s space programme had made notable progress in recent years.

He said Pakistan sent its satellite E-1 into space in January 2025. Two more satellites were launched in July 2025 and in October.

He said Pakistan’s six Earth observation satellites were providing support in various sectors. The satellites are proving helpful in agriculture, planning and dealing with natural disasters.

Satellite technology is also being used to expand internet and television coverage.
