SIBI: A two-day refresher training was held in Sibi district under the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) to build the skills of vaccinators. The training was organised by the District Health Office, Sibi. It was supervised by District Health Officer (DHO) Sibi Dr Abdul Qadir and Provincial Monitor Ghulam Sarwar.

Master Trainer Muhammad Shoaib Khajak and Dr Salahuddin Marri (IO, World Health Organization) trained the participants as training facilitators. Allah Bakhsh (DSV Sibi) assisted as facilitator.

The training aimed to further strengthen vaccinators’ professional skills in the updated guidelines of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), effective vaccination, correct vaccine handling, and recording and reporting procedures. It also covered the provision of quality health services to the public.

The speakers said immunization is an effective way to protect children from deadly diseases. They said continuous professional training of vaccinators is therefore essential so that the targets of the national immunization programme can be achieved effectively.
