QUETTA: Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Quetta Division, Naimatullah Tareen, conducted a practical driving test of candidates applying for driving licences. He assessed their driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws.

The candidates were tested on various skills, including driving, taking turns, reversing, parking, control of the vehicle, correct use of signals, obeying traffic laws and safe driving. Each candidate was assessed against the set standard.

Naimatullah Tareen said driving licences should be issued only to those who are fully skilled in driving and well aware of traffic laws. He said a licence is not merely a document but an important responsibility. He said merit and transparency would be ensured in the test at all costs.

He said it was necessary to assess candidates’ abilities in practice to prevent accidents and protect human lives. He said irresponsible driving could endanger the lives of both the driver and other citizens.
