Quetta Deputy Commissioner reviews arrangements for polio drive from 2 November
QUETTA: A key meeting was held under Quetta Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini to review the arrangements and preparations for the anti-polio drive starting on 2 November. The District Health Officer (DHO), the National EOC, the District Coordinator and other officials concerned attended.
The meeting was given a detailed briefing on the overall targets, security arrangements, micro-plan, deployment of teams and effective monitoring of the drive.
Officials said the drive aims to give polio drops to 429,000 children in Quetta. For this, 1,600 polio teams have been formed. A total of 1,800 security personnel will be deployed to protect the teams during the drive.
Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini directed that the security plan and campaign plan be implemented effectively. He also directed that the micro-plans for all areas be reviewed closely and that the polio teams be monitored regularly.
He further directed that coverage of parents who refuse polio vaccination (refusal cases) be ensured at all costs. He said no area or child should be left without polio drops.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the officials concerned to carry out their duties in coordination with each other under a joint strategy, so that the anti-polio drive could succeed.
