QUETTA: On the orders of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the directions of Quetta Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini, the district administration took action in different parts of the city against profiteers and those violating the official price list. During the action, 25 people were arrested and sent to jail. Several shopkeepers were also given a strict warning.

Teams of the district administration inspected a range of businesses in Kuchlak, Sariab, Kasi Road, Gawalmandi Chowk and other areas. These included butchers, tandoors and milk shops. Legal action was taken against those who did not follow the official price list, charged more than the set price or committed other violations.

The Quetta Deputy Commissioner said that supplying essential items to the public at official prices was the district administration’s first priority. He said action against profiteering would continue without discrimination.
