Pishin commissioner orders medicines, equipment and solar power for health facilities
PISHIN: Pishin Divisional Commissioner Qaim Khan Lashari has said that no negligence or carelessness will be tolerated in providing basic healthcare to the public. He said the administration’s first priority is to give every citizen who visits a government hospital the best and modern treatment, with respect for their dignity.
He expressed this resolve while chairing a special high-level meeting in the newly formed Pishin Division. The meeting reviewed the serious challenges facing the health sector, administrative reforms and budget matters.
Divisional Director Health Services Dr Fazal Muhammad Kakar, District Health Officer Dr Gul Zaman, Medical Superintendent Dr Nasrullah Langau, Medical Superintendent of the Teaching Hospital Pishin, and Assistant Accounts Officer Muhammad Jahangir Babar, along with other officials concerned, attended the meeting. The commissioner was also given a detailed briefing on the operational condition of the hospitals, including administrative and financial matters.
Decisions of the meeting
The meeting took a final decision to ensure an uninterrupted supply of essential life-saving medicines and the latest diagnostic and medical equipment to hospitals across the division. It also decided to make up the shortage of staff and manpower on an emergency basis.
To modernise the health system in backward districts and remote areas, the Pishin Divisional Commissioner also issued written instructions. He directed that all health centres be moved to solar power immediately as an alternative power system. He also ordered emergency repairs to hospital buildings and said the emergency services department should work round the clock and meet proper standards.
He strictly instructed the officers concerned to make the effects of these reforms reach the public on the ground as soon as possible. He said there is no room for negligence at any level in providing relief to citizens.
