PHC seeks KP government’s reply to plea for appointment of deputy chief minister

PESHAWAR (Atemad Desk): The Peshawar High Court has sought a reply from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on a petition seeking the appointment of a deputy chief minister in the province.
The petitioner’s counsel argued that the provincial government was busy with sit-ins, rallies and protests, and that there was a crisis of governance in the province. He said a deputy chief minister should therefore be appointed so that some solution could be found to the problems of the people.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz Anwar heard the petition. The court directed the provincial government to submit its reply to the petition and adjourned further hearing of the case. The petition requests the appointment of a deputy chief minister to resolve public issues.
