Supreme Court releases reform report on 86-point plan and fall in pending cases

ISLAMABAD (Atemad Desk): The Supreme Court has released a detailed report on its judicial and institutional reforms. It reviews the steps taken from November 2024 to September 2026 and the progress made in reducing pending cases.
The report details measures related to digital systems, institutional accountability and the access of ordinary people to justice. It also describes the state of implementation of the 86-point Judicial Reforms Action Plan. Special working groups and a system of regular review have been set up to monitor the reforms.
The report states that during this period the apex court disposed of far more cases than before. Special attention was given to old cases pending for years, and the data-based system for monitoring performance was further strengthened.
The report also covers progress in expanding the apex court’s digital services and modernising its procedures, along with the state of nationwide reforms under the National Judicial Policy Making Committee. Alongside the achievements, it mentions ongoing measures for further improvement.
