LORALAI: An Open Court (Khuli Kachehri) was held at the Assistant Commissioner Complex under the chairmanship of Loralai Assistant Commissioner Nadeem Akram. Its aim was to hear citizens’ problems, complaints and suggestions directly and to take practical steps for their quick resolution.

FC Major Kamran, SDPO Ghulam Akbar, Tehsildar Bori Sanaullah Looni, officials and representatives of various government departments, office-bearers of the traders’ association, tribal elders and representatives of civil society attended the Open Court.

The participants pointed out problems including electricity, drinking water, the poor condition of roads, law and order, cleanliness, drainage, basic civic facilities and development schemes under way under BSDI. They demanded that basic facilities be provided and ongoing projects completed on time. Officials concerned were directed on the spot to resolve some of the problems immediately.

The Assistant Commissioner directed that the problems raised be resolved on a priority basis and that progress be ensured through effective coordination on matters relating to other departments. He made it clear that negligence or delay in resolving public problems would not be tolerated. He said the purpose of open courts was to strengthen ties between the administration and the public and to give citizens a platform to take their complaints directly to officials.

He urged citizens to stay in direct contact with the administration about their problems and to cooperate in improving law and order, cleanliness and development projects. In the end, he assured the participants that progress on the problems raised would be reviewed, and that reports would be sought from the departments concerned to ensure that the complaints were addressed.
