Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman meets GDA chief to discuss Sarbandar projects and Gwadar cleanliness

GWADAR: Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, Member of the Provincial Assembly from Gwadar, met Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Director General Moin-ur-Rehman Khan at his office. They discussed in detail the development projects under way in Gwadar, especially the work to be started in Sarbandar, and matters relating to the cleanliness and beautification of the city.

GDA Chief Engineer Haji Syed Muhammad, Assistant Director of the Municipal Wing Yahya Wadela and the MPA’s personal assistant Waseem Samad were also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, the progress of development projects under way in Gwadar’s Old Town was reviewed. Proposed and ongoing projects in Sarbandar were also discussed. These include further construction and expansion of the link road, construction of a causeway, and allied works related to the fish landing jetty, among other development work.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman stressed the need for effective arrangements for cleanliness and beautification on Syed Zahoor Shah Hashmi Road (Airport Road), the entrance to Gwadar city, especially at Ghatti Dhor. He said this would give residents and tourists entering the city a clean and attractive view.

To make the city’s sanitation system more effective, the meeting agreed in principle that the sweeping machine held by the GDA would be handed over for use by the Gwadar Municipal Committee. Officials concerned will take the necessary steps to draw up a proper procedure. The aim is to improve the cleaning of the city’s main highways, roads, squares and other public places.
