GWADAR: Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Naqeebullah Kakar has said that the provincial government is following a policy of bringing the younger generation in line with the demands of modern times and equipping boys and girls with practical, medical and technical skills along with education. He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the first phase of the Skill Education Health Care Programme, held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. The ceremony was organised by the Education Department Gwadar and the Education Support Programme (ESP).

He said that equipping girls with basic medical skills at school level was an important need of the time. He said such practical training alongside academic education builds self-confidence and a sense of responsibility in young people, and the ability to play an effective role in medical emergencies.

Eight-month course, exam to be held by Bolan University

Under the programme, the girls took a comprehensive eight-month training course. It covered first aid, emergency response, health and safety, basic patient care and other essential medical skills. The ceremony was told that after the training, an exam would be held under the Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Quetta, and successful girls would be issued formal certificates.

In the first phase, 120 girls have successfully completed the training, while training of new girls has begun in the second phase. The initiative is a practical expression of the provincial government’s resolve to equip the younger generation with education, skills and basic health skills in line with modern demands.

District Education Officer Zahid Hussain, ESP Manager Adil Nodezai and Headmistress Balqees Suleman also addressed the ceremony. They called the programme an important step towards building the girls’ abilities, raising awareness of health and safety, and serving society effectively. At the end, the Deputy Commissioner distributed certificates among the girls who completed the course.
