The new loader rickshaws will be used for maintenance and repair of the water supply system, transport of pipes and other necessary material, city cleaning, removal of garbage and debris, cleaning of sewerage and drainage lines, and other municipal work. In the horticulture wing, the vehicles will help with tree plantation in parks, grounds, green belts and on roads, care of plants, watering and transport of gardening material.
According to GDA Transport Officer Haji Shakeel Ahmed, the loader rickshaws are suited to reaching the city’s streets and various field locations because of their small size and better manoeuvrability. He said their addition would improve the field operational capacity of the departments concerned and the delivery of civic services.
The addition of the new loader rickshaws is part of the GDA’s ongoing measures to create a clean, green and better urban environment in Gwadar and to provide effective facilities to citizens.
