Balochistan cabinet reshuffle put off until Senate elections

QUETTA: The decision to reshuffle the Balochistan cabinet has been put off until the Senate elections. The Chief Minister of Balochistan had decided to reshuffle the provincial cabinet. A list had also been prepared of ministers to be dropped and some members of the assembly to be inducted. Some members of the assembly who were likely to be inducted distributed sweets before taking the oath, while the ministers who were to be dropped began lobbying against the government.
Under pressure in this situation, the Chief Minister of Balochistan consulted the central leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan Peoples Party. After the consultations, it was decided that a cabinet reshuffle before the Senate elections would have a negative effect on the polls. The reshuffle has therefore been deferred until the Senate elections in March 2027.
