Amitabh Bachchan denies reports of his retirement

Amitabh Bachchan has shared on Social Media a newspaper clipping that carried a report of his retirement. Explaining the matter, the actor said he had written in his blog, “It is late, it is time to retire”. However, he said his words did not mean what the report had taken them to mean.

According to the actor, he was not referring to retirement from acting or television, but to the end of a day’s work. He only meant that it was very late and time to go to sleep.

In his usual humorous style, Amitabh Bachchan explained that “retire” meant finishing work and going to bed. He also joked that there was no invitation for any distinguished person to attend the occasion.

Thus, Amitabh Bachchan himself denied the reports about his retirement and made it clear that he is still at work.

Amitabh Bachchan is currently hosting the 18th season of the popular television game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati”. The programme was first aired in 2000 and over time became one of the most popular shows on Indian television.
