QUETTA: Balochistan Board of Investment Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar has said that the Balochistan Investment and Trade Expo (2026 BITE), to be held on 18 and 19 November, will play an important role in promoting trade and business activity in the province, identifying new investment opportunities and setting a new direction for economic development.

Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti is committed to making the province a hub of national and World investment, he said. The Balochistan Board of Investment is taking full steps to turn this vision into reality. He said this while chairing a meeting held to review preparations and arrangements for the Balochistan Investment and Trade Expo 2026.

Chief Executive Officer Abdul Manan and other officials concerned were also present. The meeting discussed in detail the administrative and publicity matters of the expo, the participation of attendees, ways to increase the interest of business organisations and investors, and other related issues.

Role of the expo

Bilal Khan Kakar said that 2026 BITE is not merely an exhibition but will prove an important means of introducing Balochistan’s business and industrial potential at the national and World level. The platform will bring together investors, industrialists, traders, business figures, government departments concerned and various trade organisations in one place. There they will be able to build contacts, explore new business partnerships and benefit from investment opportunities.

The vice chairman said that for Balochistan’s economic development, the private sector must be encouraged and the local business community given access to national and World markets. The expo will highlight products made in the province, local business skills and projects open to investment. This will not only increase business activity but also help create new job opportunities, he said.
