GWADAR: The Balochistan government is continuing practical steps to give every child in the province, especially girls, a quality, safe and suitable learning environment, under the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti. In this connection, District Education Officer (Female) Gwadar Zaraton Baloch visited several government educational institutions in Pasni tehsil and Ormara tehsil and reviewed teaching, administrative and basic facilities.

During the visit, a meeting was held at Government Girls High School Kalmat with teachers, school administration and the union council chairman. The severe shortage of clean drinking water and the lack of a protective boundary wall at the school were described as the main problems. The DEO directed the officials concerned to identify these problems promptly and prepare workable proposals so that they could be resolved on a priority basis.

Government Girls Middle School Panjag, Ormara, was inspected afterwards. The difficulties in teaching caused by the lack of doors and windows in two newly built classrooms were reviewed there. She directed that construction work be completed soon so that the classrooms could be used for teaching.

During a visit to Government Girls Middle School Koh-e-Bin, Ormara, it emerged that, because of a severe shortage of classrooms, girls were forced to study in the open and sitting on the floor. The DEO expressed concern over the situation. She directed that a safe temporary shelter be provided for the girls at once until new rooms were built, and that recommendations for a permanent solution be presented strongly to the relevant forums.

On the occasion, Zaraton Baloch said that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the Balochistan government was taking effective steps to develop the education sector, provide basic facilities in government educational institutions, improve the quality of education and give girls a safe and suitable learning environment. She vowed that the problems of all government educational institutions in Gwadar district would be identified in time, monitored effectively and resolved in phases, so that the government’s education reform vision is put into practice and students in remote areas, both boys and girls, benefit equally from quality education.
