SIBI: Divisional Monitoring Officer Khalid Hussain gave Sibi Division Commissioner Irfanullah Khan a detailed briefing on the overall performance, academic situation and problems of the division’s boys’, girls’ and intermediate colleges.

During the briefing, vacant teaching posts in the colleges were highlighted as a key issue. The Divisional Monitoring Officer said many posts of teachers and other related staff were vacant in various colleges, which was affecting academic activities and causing problems in the enrolment of students.

He said the shortage of staff was also creating difficulties in launching and continuing BS degree programmes in the colleges.

Commissioner Irfanullah Khan said it was important that the vacant posts and other academic problems had been identified. He stressed the need for the necessary contacts with the authorities concerned and for effective steps, so that teaching could improve, students would get opportunities for higher education and the standard of education in the colleges could be raised further.
