Iran’s limited weapons range is policy, not technical limit: General Naqdi

TEHRAN (Atemad Desk): Iranian General Mohammad Reza Naqdi has said that Iran manufactures its weapons domestically and that keeping their range limited is not the result of a technical constraint but a policy decision. According to him, the range is determined in light of national needs and the directives of the Supreme Leader.

He said the power and striking capability of the weapons could be increased if required.

Speaking about the Strait of Hormuz, General Naqdi claimed that the strait was closed and that the Iranian armed forces had full control over it. According to him, the quantity of oil being smuggled through this route is very small, but oil is being delivered to tankers by small vessels.

He said the passages cut through the rocks for the illegal transfer of oil in the Strait of Hormuz would soon be closed, and that preparations for this had been completed.
