Eight Islamic countries demand immediate Gaza aid and full Israeli withdrawal

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and Qatar said in a joint statement that it is essential to ensure the immediate, safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The joint statement stressed the need to protect the ceasefire and end all violations. It demanded the full withdrawal of Israeli forces and the deployment of an International Stabilisation Force.

The eight Islamic countries also agreed that the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza should begin its responsibilities across the whole of Gaza.

The statement rejected the forced displacement of Palestinians and any territorial or demographic change. It condemned the expansion of settlements, the seizure of Palestinian land, the demolition of homes and settler violence.

The foreign ministers expressed concern over attempts to affect the historical and legal status of the holy sites in Jerusalem. They welcomed steps by Britain and European countries to stop trade with illegal settlements.

The joint statement said Gaza is part of Palestinian territory and must remain united with the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The foreign ministers called a two-state solution essential for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The eight Islamic countries, including Pakistan, praised the leadership of United States President Donald Trump. They stressed an active role for the United States in resolving the conflict.

The joint statement also reaffirmed their commitment to continue working with the United States, the Board of Peace and the Palestinian Authority.
