Any violation of Iran’s territorial integrity will get unimaginable response: Qalibaf

TEHRAN: Iranian parliament speaker Baqer Qalibaf has said any violation of the country’s territorial integrity will be met with a response beyond the enemy’s imagination. According to Mehr News Agency, he made the remarks in an address to an open session of parliament on Sunday, 25 October.
Qalibaf said the Iranian nation would never bow to US military threats or pressure. He said that until the United States changes its behaviour, gives up its threatening conduct and fulfils the promises it has broken, its claims would carry no credibility.
The speaker said the United States had miscalculated by starting a war against Iran and had trapped itself in a quagmire. He said the Americans would themselves have to take the steps needed to get out of it. He said the Americans believed Iran could be made to bow through media pressure or military threats, but today’s Iran was not the Iran of the Pahlavi era.
According to Qalibaf, present-day Iran is an impregnable fortress of self-confidence, defensive strength and firm resolve. He said it would not allow any foreign power to impose conditions on the honour of this land. He said threats of a large-scale war or of assassination could not make the Iranian nation back away from its inalienable rights and interests.
On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, speaking at the Foreign Ministry, said peace and stability in the region required moving towards the complete absence of foreign forces. According to The Express Tribune, he said Iran’s policies would remain the same, war or no war.
According to The Express Tribune, US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that there would be no immediate attack. However, in an interview with Fox News, he asked whether a deal should be made with Iran or whether it should be finished off. The Iran war began in late February with US and Israeli attacks. Despite a ceasefire, the Strait of Hormuz remains a major point of dispute.
Iranian spokesman Esmail Baghaei, responding to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s statement on piracy, referred to Trump’s statement of 1 May 2026, in which he had said the United States was “sort of like pirates”.
