PTI refiles contempt plea over Imran Khan’s hospital transfer after objections removed

The Supreme Court registrar had objected that the list of allegations against those accused of contempt had not been sent. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar submitted the list at the registrar’s office.
PTI removed the objection and refiled the petition. The registrar’s office also assigned a number to the contempt petition. Aleema Khan’s contempt petition has been numbered 8/2026.
Aleema Khan then filed an application for an early hearing of the contempt petition.
The application states that the founder’s health is deteriorating. It says the early hearing is linked to the founder’s health and life. It says the government disobeyed the court’s decision. It adds that if any clarification was needed, the government should have approached the relevant court.
The application further states that the court’s decision could not be defied. It asks that the contempt petition be fixed for hearing this week.
Earlier, the Supreme Court registrar’s office had raised an objection to the contempt petition and returned it. According to sources, the objection said the petitioner had not provided a list of contempt allegations against the parties.
Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said he had met the Supreme Court registrar at the facilitation centre. He said the registrar’s office had objected to the petition. The objection, he said, was that the list of allegations had not been sent to those accused of contempt.
He said PTI had approached the court for an early hearing of the petition. He said the contempt petition was being returned. He said it would be refiled the same day.
Barrister Gohar said the founder’s health was very important. He asked that the PTI founder’s family members be allowed to meet him. He said PTI had already fulfilled its promise.
Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, had filed the contempt petition against the government over the PTI founder’s transfer to hospital. It names Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, among others, as parties.
